Hwk for week 18, Spelling words and Letter to Parents

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We hope you had a wonderful and restful winter break. The end of the 2nd quarter is quickly approaching. We will begin our end of 2nd quarter assessments this week and will complete them by the end of next week. Your child will have assessments in reading, writing, spelling and math. This week we will begin assessing your children on identifying high frequency words, spelling high frequency words, reading inventory, and oral fluency and reading comprehension. Next week we will continue the oral fluency and reading comprehension as well as have our spelling inventory tests, unit spelling test and math assessment. Below is a schedule of when the assessment should take place.

January 3-5 – Reading Inventory

January 3-6 – Identify and Spell High Frequency Words (the words are on the blog)

January 3-12 – Oral fluency and reading comprehension

January 10 and 11 – Spelling Inventories (the words are on the blog)

January 12 – Unit spelling test (study the spelling words in the orange spelling folder for the last 6 weeks)

January 12 – Math Assessment
